Olympics Hotel Contracting – London, 2010

In 2010, London’s largest hotel to date with more than 1000 rooms, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge,  was under construction planned to be opened right before the 2012 Olympic games. Besides this monster of a hotel, the company also operated three other hotels on the North and Southbank within the city center, adding to a combined inventory of 1600+ guest rooms.  Far more than any other hotel chain in the city.

During my interim role as Commercial Director UK I conducted the strategic hotel contracting with the Olympic organising committee representing a commercial revenue of nearly 7 million pounds. It turned out to be the largest strategic special event contracting in the history of the company.
