Gerk was born in Eindhoven, The Netherlands in 1975 but spent most of his childhood abroad in the Middle East and South East Asia including Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Always fascinated by new places and its spectacular hotels & resorts he decided to study hospitality management in Switzerland after which he started his career in the luxury segment in the United States. Now, 20 years later, Gerk has worked in 4 continents, for 5 companies and in various strategic operational and commercial roles. In addition he has been involved in numerous change projects in multi-disciplinary settings. It has given him a solid foundation of hard and soft skills necessary to quickly adapt to new environments and work cultures in order to set direction and steer towards the desired business objectives at hand.
